Level 72 now…

Lok’Tar

Lokt has just reached level 72. Previously, before the WotLK, level cap was at 70 (increased to 80 for WotLK). Many players has reach level 80 in just 3-4 days. They have no life??? /lol. I do not know. Perhaps WoW is their life as much I need WoW in mine. BTW, Lokt will not level too quickly. He want to enjoy the new game content while leveling. Exploring the vast continent of Northrend, the Roof of the World. Meeting new people and creatures. And off course, questing as it is meant to be.

Lokt is enjoying the lore with smile.

Woot. WOTLK soon

Lok’tar

WOTLK will be released soon. Me copy will be ready in 14-Nov at 7.00PM. My WOTLK will come with free lollipop.

Okay. Take Care

Heroics being nerfed?

Anu belore dela’na

/sigh. The Heroics have been nerfed. All mobs and master may be killed without any much trouble now. I wonder what would happen to the raid instances now. What I have heard, all mobs and bosses have 30% of their healthpool reduced. Standard melee damage output is reduced too.

It is good from some players. But too many, game is no more fun at all. The feeling of getting nice group to do Heroic is no more. Is there any more surprises. Well, we will see.

The New Patch

Greetings

As I have foreseen, the new patch would be launched today. Patch 3.0.2 has been released today as a preparation of the new Expansion, “Wrath of the Lich King” scheduled to be released November 13, 2008. The latest patch notes can always be found here. The very 1st thing I did to get things go right was to remove all Add-Ons. This is to minimize compatibility issues of out of dates add-ons.

Based from the notes, many changes have been made to Rogue skills and many improvement and new talents have been included. I just tried Killing Spree a moment ago before off to work. /woot. It was fun. But hey, I believe this would be the best reasons for Party Wipe or Raid Wipe for the worst. Well, I do not have a clue. Will be trying this skill in Instance.

As usual, patch with talents and skill modification will result into talent points being reimbursed. Most of us now, do not have a clue what and where to spend this point. But I simply spent all until “Killing Spree’ is usable. It was fun. CleftHoof Bull died in 2 seconds. Sweet.

Perhaps, the next best thing about this patch is the In-Game Event Calendar. A brilliant addition by Blizzard. Finally they think of it. I am always clueless about the happenings in WoW until it is too late. Lokt usually spend his time in OutLand and not knowing anything in Azeroth. This in-game calendar would tell players like me about the goings in Aman’Thul.

Well, it’s maintenance again

Loktar

I was so eager to play WoW today. But, /sigh. All servers are under maintenance. Last week they say Aman’Thul would be under brief maintenance. They said Aman’Thul would be down for 2 hours. Hell no. It was not. I fell asleep while waiting for Aman’Thul brought up again.

Lokt had just got new upgrade. The [Master Assassin Wristwraps] to replace the [Primalstrike Bracers]. No doubt Lokt lost some AP. Nevertheless, Hit Rating increased tremendously. Lokt has now reached the Hit Rating Cap for rogue with Spicy Talbuk Steak Bonus.

Another upgrade before WOTLK arrived. When?

And the adventure continues…

Lok’tar

8.00 AM in the morning. Am on leave today. Decided to test my connection to see whether Lokt is playable or not. To my surprise am not dc anymore. Hmmm. This is good sign. We will see. How long this stable will remain. I can’t wait for Kara tomorrow. This is guild run, SMASH UNIT Kara-Team #2.

Well. take care for now. Lokt is still working on his connection stress test.

Lokt is angry!!!

Lok’tar

It has been like more than a week since my last day of World of Warcraft. This is ain’t happening. Disconnection now and then. I can barely take it. I know it is not Aman’Thul Realm having problem. This is not Blizzard’s fault. I do believe this problem is not at Blizzard’s end. The problem lies not with my Router and Modem. Both are new. It is not my PC either. Other PCs are experiencing the same issue. Downloads will stop for like 5 minutes then resume again.

This must be the best ISP in the World. TMNUTS and its SCREAMYX. Well you suck big time. With Screamyx you can play on-line games. Oh yeah. You must be joking. You throttle bit-torrent downloads. You shape our Internet speed. What the hell.

Loktaramish misses his friends and Guild Mates. His Bank Toon has numerous items to be sold. He has Karazhan raid to finish. He needs to kill as much Alliance as he can. But, as the connection sucks big time. He will be disconnected in 3 minutes.

My only form of escapism is non-playable. This blog will be less updated as nothing new to report. How can I? I can’t even stay for 5 minutes.

Bodoh punya TMNET

DC and DC all over again

Lok’tar

It has been a week since my last time WoWing. I do not know, who’s the culprit. I can only stay connected for only 2-3 minutes. Then I will hearth to Login Screen. Magic huh? I can’t even play. My life with WoW is ending soon. I do hope such thing will not happen. Could it be the router or TMNUT? I dunno. Lokt is not happy. I am not happy. This is not good.

Sigh…

Why WoW on Linux?

Throm-Ka!!!

Why I play WoW on Linux. Is there any specific reason for that? Obviously I do not have Windows installed and the only way for me to WoW is by using Wine. Used to play Wow using Cedega but later on, I found out Wine is much more better than cedega. Wasted USD5 for Cedega. While using Cedega my latency was like 700++ compared to 200-300 with Wine.

The reason : I do not own Windows!!! That’s the reason why I WoW on Linux. Not because of superior graphic or better performance. But it is faster and better than Windows. What’s more, I have no fear for Virus, Spyware, Malware, Worms and so on. I am in control.

Later, this evening, I will update my Distro to the latest version, Version 8.04 (Hardy Heron : LTS). Hopefully all goes well. If not, God save me.

Aka’Magosh!!!

My Rig for WoW

Anu belore dela’na

What do you use to run World of Warcraft? Is it run on Windows, Mac or perhaps Linux or maybe FreeBSD? Well, there are many ways to play World of Warcraft. Some even play WoW on their iPhone [check out]. That’s real WoW addict, lol. I believe it is no fun at all.

As for me, I use Wine to play World of Warcraft. Oh sorry, Wine is a program that allows Linux user to play or run Windows Program on Linux. It acts just like Emulator but Wine is not an Emulator. The name itself is a recursive acronym of “Wine Is Not an Emulator”. It is a compatibility layer for running Windows programs on Linux. How cool is that? Very Cool!!!

In the old days, it was difficult to run WoW with Wine. As the program matures, and more programmers take part in enhancing and fixing Wine, today Wine can run WoW flawlessly. WoW with Linux is better than Windows in term of speed and graphic. Seriously, make your switch to Linux, Ubuntu of course.

Well, here’s the Rig Spec:

Intel Core2 Duo 2.6
Asus P5N-E SLI
GeForce FX 7600 x 2
2G Mushkin EM Series DDR3

What’s Yours?
