You run, you jump, you collect coins. Senangkan? Loncat situ, loncat sini, makan Cendawan (bukan cendawan yg tu ek!!!), selamatkan Tuan Puteri.. yadda yadda yadda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turns out it\u2019s more like Doom. Takde tutorial. Pause button pon untuk tgk Map. Bayar bills, buang sampah, vacuum rumah and the bumbung bocor bila hujan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then I read it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we truly see this truth, we transcend it. Once we truly know that life is difficult-once we truly understand and accept it-then life is no longer difficult. Because once it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>From The Road Less Traveled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not from a ustaz or HR townhall. Just a book; but it hit like a final boss cutscene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s the thing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If life was a game, and we were born in Malaysia, we\u2019re not playing on Nightmare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re on Hurt Me Plenty. Not the worst. Still painful. Berpoluh jugakla. With occasional MyKad discounts PetroSains (with additional discount being in PETRONAS guild) and the My50 RapidKL pass to soften the blow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take my recent side quests:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A gearbox overhaul that nearly gave me an out-of-body experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A roof leak that turns into ASMR every time it rains.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three amazing kids: 15, 14, and 9; each with their own patch updates, emotional DLCs, and snack requirements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A librarian wife at UPM; brilliant, compassionate, and also a pro at calling me out when I pretend to rest but scroll TikTok instead. (Nak main game kena setelkan kerja rumah dahulu)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Managing their expectations is like managing a 5-star hotel\u2026 are always hungry, emotionally expressive, and somehow allergic to chores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s when Stoicism became my survival tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ancient Roman advice for modern dad problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the kid spills Milo on the floor: \u201cThe obstacle is the way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When meetings stack up like unpaid parking tickets: \u201cControl what you can.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the leak starts mid-night while everyone\u2019s asleep: \u201cMemento mori (refer note sana bawah)\u2026 and grab the mop.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m not perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But I\u2019ve stopped asking for life to be easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now I just ask for good sambal, enough data, and a break from surprise expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because life isn\u2019t a game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But if it was,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m still playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Still showing up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Still the tank, healer, and main quest-giver for this small unit I call family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Life is difficult. But not impossible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Especially when you\u2019ve got:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grace, Grit and Kopi Susu CBTL\u2026 yeay and off course, Milo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And maybe a spare pail for the roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>A Note on \u201cMemento Mori\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s Latin, and it means: \u201cRemember that you will die.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sounds gloomy, but it\u2019s not.
