Good Morning and Salam Sejahtera

Just another round of expressing my 2 cents to the world. If it annoys you then I am sorry. BTW, this is my realm. Not yours!!! I can even post my nude pictures if I wanted to. Buzz off if you don’t like it here. While waiting for ePrints to finish its compilation on Ubuntu Server, I browse Malaysiakini for any good news. And I found 1 good letter in English in Maths and Science. Again with the same reason, why must English in Maths & Science. Usually, these would be the reasons:

  1. To improve their English
  2. To broaden their employment opportunities

Ok. No doubt that English is very important (Well those Japs can do without it). My argument here is, mastering English should be made in English Class, not in Maths and Science. I do not see any relations to improve English with teaching Maths and Science in that language. Well, I did not learn Maths and Science in English but I can speak, write and understand English, Engrish, Minglish and broken very well.

Tun Dr. Mahathir could do anything at that time. Let say, he urged schools to make use B.Melayu in Maths and Science. None of this will happen. And… most of us be not wasting time with this issue. Maths and Science in English is absolute nonsense if the aim is to improve English.

Language is very unique. Very unique in a sense of multiple subject areas need to be addressed. Language has reading and comprehension, grammar, writing as well as listening and speaking. All languages have these elements. Where do those elements appear in Maths and Science? (Di Celah Beda Lah!!!).

Improve English, Yes you must. But do it right!! Do it properly. Do not join the band wagon of those imbeciles.

I have read an article in Malaysiakini.com about conducting IB Exam in schools. All about revamping our education system and continuing using English as the medium for Mathematics and Science. /rofl. Why English on those 2 subjects? I believe, this must be the reason, an untested hypotheses and phailed (failed) reason : “To improve English among those students“. Well, this is all Bull Shit. Nothing is better than a pure English Class for English Language. Teaching Mathematics and Science in English will only hinder our children’s development. English should be taught in English Class, just like B. Melayu in its own class.

It is true that our education system is ancient. It is obsolete and examination oriented. It does not focus on human development. It is a fail system. That’s why we have so many “Yes Sir” type of person. Few can break free from this curse. Few can see the light of truth and few can really think for themselves instead of “Yes Sir”.

I do not agree with English as medium for Mathematics and Science if the main reason is to improve English. What the hell man. Instead of teaching Mathematics and Science, teachers will need to teach English as well. And not in English Class. This is plain Bull Shit. Not working as intended… Hello!!!! All those idiots passing out these policies are indeed imbeciles. English should be taught in English Class. That’s the only way to improve English.

I still remember, me Ex-Dean used to say

Read in English, Speak in English, Smile in English, Have your dream in English. You will improve your English.

And where do you start to use English in School? English Class, English Language Society and English whatever. Not in Mathematics and Science. Those are phailed (failed) missions. Unfortunately, many do not realise about this. And what not, those unlucky students, having failed with English, teaching Maths and Science in English will only worsen their studies.

Okay, what the hell is not right about our Education System in School. The very first thing is the method of teaching. Almost all subjects do not focus on Human-Development. I mean, none of these subjects provide the ground for our children to think. They are all taught with a pre-defined subjects with no room of explorations. To think out of the box? Meh, with this kind of system, no way!!!

Example in Class1

Teacher : Who knows what is a Mango?
Poor Little Child : Teacher! Teacher! I know. I know.
Teacher : How does it taste like?
Poor Little Child : Sweet!
Teacher : (Without event realise that Ripe Mango do taste nice and sweet) WRONG!!! Mango is sour!!!
Poor Little Child : NO! I ate it yesterday. It was sweet.
Teacher : Sit Down!!! Mango is sour

That’s how our current education system. They have set the rules for these poor children to follow. No ground for exploration. How do you expect our children to grow and learn. You should know that at this age, Standard 1, Standard 2 and Standard 3, children are very eager to know almost anything. They have this kind of drive that we must manipulate to shape them into thinkers!!! Not Yes Sir Man!!

Think wise and be wise. The system needs total modification.

Sejahtera dan Selamat Maju Jaya

Semoga anda sekalian berada di dalam keadaan yang gagah serta sihat. Adapun World of Warcraft : Wrath of the Lich King sudah berada di dalam pasaran. Copy saya masih berada di kedai Auntie Lollipop di Subang Parade (Mungkin Anda Kenal!!). Baru-baru ini mantan Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr. Mahathir, ada memberi ucaptama di Perdana Discourse Series di Perdana Leadership Foundation. Tema PDS pada kali ini adalah Bangsa Malaysia. Siri ini (yang ke-8) adalah salah satu daripada 10 siri yang dikelolakan oleh Perdana Leadership Foundation yang juga ditaja oleh Proton.

Suka saya berkata disini, apabila Tun Dr. Mahathir bercakap, ataupun memberi sepatah dua-kata, ramai orang yang akan teruja. Semua orang suka nak dengar apa dia nak cakap. Setiap kali siri ini diadakan, atau mana2 event yang melibatkan Tun Dr. Mahathir, sambutannya adalah amat menggalakkan. Sehinggakan ada orang yang menyangkakan Perdana Leadership Foundation adalah kubu kuat Tun Dr. Mahathir, ianya ada tidak benar sama sekali. Kaji2lah dahulu akan sebab penubuhan PLF dan fungsi utama PLF. Tidak ada satupun daripada misi dan visinya adalah untuk kepentingan orang tua itu.

Saya kalau ada orang salah anggap dengan PLF ini mmg saya tidak berapa nak suka. Itu adalah tempat bermulanya karier saya sebagai seorang Librarian. Jadi musti mau hormat. Tun Dr. Mahathir ada berkata di bahawasanya:

Sesiapa saja, baik Melayu atau bukan Melayu, boleh menjadi Perdana Menteri Malaysia asalkan dia “Bangsa Malaysia”.

Itu adalah pendapat Yang berbahgia Tun. Tapi, tidak semestinya, saya akan bersetuju dengan pendapat Tun. Saya tidaklah seperti penyokong-penyokong beliau yang fanatik. Apa sahaja Tun kata, sokong!!! Tidak perlu pikir-pikir. Itulah dia Penyokong Fanatik beliau. Seperti tiada tulang belakang hendaknya. Haruslah kita berfikir dahulu sebelum menerimanya.

Saya memang tidak ada masalah untuk sesiapapun menjadi PM di Malaysia. Cina, India, Hindu, Buddha, Chrisitan, Muslim, Jawa, Melayu, Islam, Atheist, Banjar atau sesiapa pun. Asalkan yang adil dan saksama sahaja. Bukannya zalim dan thagut.

Namun, suka saya tekankan disini, kebanyakan orang-orang UMNO dan orang-orang Melayu masih belum bisa menerima PM yang bukan melayu. Ini kita dapat lihat dengan perlantikkan Pengurus Besar PKNS. Berduyuh-duyun bantahan daripada masyarakat MELAYU dengan appointment itu. Heboh diperkatakan Tan Sri Khalid khianat kepada orang-orang Melayu (Celah Mana!!). Inilah yang dipanggil Serkap Jarang. Yang menuduh orang di atas sana, yang BODOH mengikut adalah mereka yang dungu. Siapa yang Khianat sebenarnya? I don’t know you tell me!!! Meh! Itu baru PKNS, belum yang di atas lagi.

Kalau macam ini keadaanya, bila pula Malaysia sudah bersedia menerima PM Bukan Melayu?? Okey. Pikir-pikirkan lah!!

Good Morning and Good Day

It has been a while. Not too long by the way. I just bought me a copy of World of Warcraft newest Expansion, The Wrath of the Lich King. A great game and more challenging. This game is my alternate life. Ohh My. I am so addicted to this game. It’s bad, but I still continue playing. It’s crazy, but I enjoy the content of the game. One thing I am sure of it, World of Warcraft is full of fun.

I paid RM168 for this game and will make sure it’s a well spent stuff. Btw, I am still on queue to enter the World of Warcraft. 1000+ queues man. What the hell. Eversince WotLK has been launched Aman’Thul has become Aman’Phail.

/sigh. /blame Einharjier and Larhart for this!!!

Sejahtera dan Selamat Maju Jaya

Al-Kisah maka hendak dijadikan cerita, seorang lelaki yang telah berkahwin ditangkap basah bersama-sama seorang betina (Namun saya pasti tidak ada yg basah pada hari itu, di bahagian kangkang saya tidak dapat pastikan samada basah atau kering). Namun menurut lelaki itu, ini adalah perbuatan khianat untuk menjatuhkan dia. Sabotaj dari pihak ketiga menurut lelaki yang kena tangkap basah itu. Pandailah ko!! Dah terkena terus nak kata ada orang ke-tiga. Lawak la kamu neh!!!

Mari kita buat ulasan tentang ilmu tangkap basah ini. Setahu saya, setiap serbuan-serbuan yang dilakukan oleh Jabatan Agama, selalunya adalah kerana terdapat aduan-aduan daripada orang ramai. Aduan pula bisa berlaku apabila ianya terlalu kerap berlaku. Apabila ianya kerap berlaku, orang ramai mula buat aduan mungkin kerana dengki, atau sakit hati atau mungkin kerana Amal Makruf Nahi Mungkar (ini yang seeloknya). Atau mungkin orang ramai kesian akan Bininya yang sudah 3 kali proses Air Semen berok itu.

Good Evening… Again.

Have you ever heard of Gravatar? No? Avatar? Yes? Cool. If you do not know what is Gravatar, please do yourself a favour. Get one now!!! Everyone knows what is Gravatar. I have been using it since my first years of blogging, somewhere in the year 2006. For those who do not know what is an Avatar, basically, in the world of computers, an avatar is a graphical representation of himself/herself or alter ego.

In Hinduism (this is where the word Avatar comes from), Avatar is the incarnation of the Higher Being. Lost? Okay. In the laymen term, God transforms Himself into the creature of the World to directly meddling with humans.

It has been a while. “Me busy, leave me alone!”. /lol. Well, I have this “Work, work” in the office. There’s a time when the Chief calls upon me. I answered “Yes?”. “Something need doing?”. And as an obedient peon, I answered “Okie Dokie”. There you go, my addiction to the World of Warcraft. This game has taken its toll on me. I am now the servant of Thrall, Warchief of the Horde. Slave of Blizzard and a member of the Shattered Hand.

Okay, on with the content now. Do you know that each of us does talk like a bastard? What is this Talk like Bastards really. Simple. It simply means talk shits or Talk Cock (not the American Version of Cock). This is more like South East-Asian styles which means to talk nonsense. And today, I will point out some quotes from various people in my country, they shall be unnamed to protect their identity.

Finding myself through WP themes

Good Evening,

This is my 3rd times in this week alone I replace my WordPress Theme. Why? I just got fed up with the old themes. I just don’t like it anymore. Usually, I would restrain myself from keep on replacing themes. It requires tremendous works. A theme is just a theme, but, to enter www.munmon.com, a theme must have many things that amuse me. I am very picky. Yes, I am. Colours, CSS, customisation and appearance all must pass my Rigid “Seal of Quality“.

I had my own theme for the past few years. It was called Orange: munmonlisme. It was Hemingway inspired theme. That was my best self-created theme. CSS certified, XHTML certified and W3C compliant. All gone due to too inevitable computer disaster. And, I failed to pay my bill (my previous web hosting).

I just don’t have the time to start from scratch. Forget about creating a new WP theme. WP has changed a lot since the last time I created my own theme. I have much better things to do. Shall we take a look at the themes I have used? Hmmm. Let me see…..

When I 1st set-up the new munmonlisme (this is version 2), I searched for a theme that really appealed me. So enter the faleonis by flisterz. Used it for about 4 months. When I found out this theme did not render me shadow properly (your theme is great flisterz, but please blame Microsoft for their stupid IE) in IE, I started to search for new theme.

deLight seemed to appeal to me. Oh. Sorry, this theme is created by Simon, a web designer from German. This theme is pretty nice, but, I don’t like the wasted space in the sidebar. Scrap this one too. Then, I found Ship Ahoy by Theme Terminal. I seem to like this one. Must be for the pirate’s naming convention. Ahoy. I just love to be a pirate. Even dream to become one. The good old-time pirate with that amazing Jolly Roger. Sweet huh?

Ubuntu 8.10RC is coming

Good Evening,

Ubuntu the best Linux Distro (me thinks) is releasing the next version 8.10 Intrepid Ibex soon. As of now, Release Candidate is available here. Shall I be upgrading to the latest version? I don’t think so. Am feeling lazy to re-install Ubuntu. Hear me when I say, I don’t like upgrading Ubuntu or any other Operating System. There’s nothing better than the fresh installation of an Operating System. Furthermore, being on LTS now. Why should I upgrade? I would if I have the time. Heh. /rolling eyes.

Let’s see, what Ubuntu 8.10 is offering. Usually, the new release has better applications and a new kernel. However, one will never know what lurks behind. /sinister smile. Upgrading is not for the fainted heart. Save it for the bold. Let the experienced users test and conclude it in the future. Well, we will know. Okay, on the new features now.

Tun Dr. Mahathir menyokong anugerah Datuk ke SRK

Salam Sejahtera,

Tun Dr. Mahathir menyokong penganugerahan Datuk kepada Yang Berbahagia Datuk Shah Rukh Khan (DSRK). Perkara ini bisa dilihat di blognya. Pandangan beliau saya hormati setelah meneliti argumen2 Yang Berbahgia Tun. Antara sebab Tun Dr. Mahathir menyokong akan penganugerahan itu adalah:

  1. DSRK telah banyak membantu mempromosikan Malaysia di serata dunia. Filem2 DSRK banyak berlatarbelakngkan Malaysia. Sekaligus memperkenalkan Malaysia di serata dunia terutamanya Eropah.
  2. Oleh kerana filem lakonan DSRK mempunyai banyak lokasi di Malaysia, perkara ini telah memaksa Agensi Perfileman Hindi (Bollywood) membelanjakan wang yang banyak. Dalam erti kata lain, dari segi ekonomi perkara ini telah membantu aliran wang keluar masuk. Ini adalah bagus untuk pertumbuhan ekonomi.
  3. DSRK juga banyak melakukan pertunjukan percuma untuk membantu badan2 amal (samada badan-badan amal dari Malaysia atau luar negara tidaklah saya ketahui)
  4. Akhir sekali, DSRK telah berjaya membawa lebih banyak pengarah2 Bollywood ke Malaysia sebagai lokasi perfileman mereka.

Itu adalah pandangan Yang Berbahgia Tun Dr. Mahathir. Argumen2nya jelas kelihatan. Sekurang-kurangnya Tun mempunyai argumennya. Yang tidak menyokong juga mempunyai argumen2nya. Namun yang saya kesalkan adalah tukang2 komen di blognya. Di situ kita dapat lihat beberapa Rakyat Malaysia (bukan satu atau dua, namun ramai) yang menyokong tanpa usul dan periksa. Oleh kerana terlalu taksub akan Kehebatan Tun, maka terus dulunya tidak menyokong, terus menyokong anugerah tersebut. (Silalah lihat kalau tak percaya). Kelakar bukan? Itu adalah satu antara beribu. Ini lagi ada lagi satu

yup.. Tun betul.. tiada apa yg perlu dipertikaikan.. walaupun pada mulanya saya anggap i sedikit pelik n lucu.. but come to think of it.. bukannya pelik pun.. biarla org nk bg.. mmg byk lagi bintang kehormat yang akan diberi tiap2 tahun kepada mereka yg layak menerimanya.. macam esok hari (hari keputeraan tuanku Sultan Pahang)..
ok Tun.. semoga dipanjangkan umur n disihatkan tubuh badan..

Begitulah cara rakyat Malaysia berfikir. Hanya kerana Tun Dr. Mahathir adalah orang yang mereka kagumi, jika Tun kata A, maka A lah untuk mereka. Saya khuatir sekiranya ini adalah caranya, maka tidak perlulah kita semua mempunyai daya pemikiran yang hebat serta perkasa. Kita hanya memerlukan seorang yang hebat sahaja, yang lain2 tidak perlu menjadi hebat. Pak Turut bak kata Tok dan Nenek saya.

Namun ada juga yang tidak bersetuju dengan pandangan Tun. Sungguhpun begitu, saya masih berasa kelakar dengan beberapa Mahkluk Tuhan yang terus menyokong kerana Tun menyokong. Itulah dia beberapa Rakyat Malaysia yang tidak mempunyai Tulang Belakang. Atau mungkin patut saya label mereka Penyokong Fanatik Tun Dr. Mahathir.

Saya sendiri adalah penyokong kuat Tun. Namun saya juga mempunyai pandangan sendiri. Saya memang tidak bersetuju akan anugerah itu. Namun masing2 punya pandangan sendiri. Tidak semestinya saya atau Tun yang betol. Itu suka hati kitorangla. Yang nak sokong secara membabi buta itu kenapa?

Silalah belajar untuk jadi Manusia yang Boleh Berfikir?
