Microsoft is offering a special one month upgrade to the Xbox Live Gold subscription plan to current Silver plan members for just $1.00 .

After the member upgrades, they will automatically be enrolled into a “one month” renewal plan unless the call and cancel before the months end.

As a bonus, members with a Gold plan will have access to a number of additional features, including streaming Netflix movies and TV shows, TrueSkill matchmaking, early and exclusive access to select game add-ons in the marketplace, multi-player features, and much more.

Ada laporan dari tabloid mengenai permainan video yang mempunyai elemen agama. Mungkin itu salah satu daripada caranya mereka mencari atau menambah pembaca. Mari kita petik laporan tersebut:

KUALA LUMPUR: Elemen kepercayaan terhadap alam ghaib termasuk membabitkan malaikat yang menjadi perisian terkini permainan konsol PS3 dan Xbox 360 dikesan semakin diminati generasi muda kerana memberikan keseronokan ekstrem kepada pemainnya.

Melalui permainan itu, sesiapa saja boleh menikmati pengalaman baru dengan menatap wajah ‘malaikat maut’ sambil meneroka syurga, malah mengalami situasi mencemaskan apabila menjelajah sembilan lapisan neraka.Namun, ia mempunyai unsur mempersendakan agama apabila permainan dibangunkan syarikat antarabangsa seperti Darksiders itu menggambarkan malaikat seperti manusia yang bersenjata, bersayap dan berbaju perisai, malah boleh dibunuh sesuka hati, sekali gus bertentangan prinsip kepercayaan Islam.

Dante’s Inferno pula berkaitan misinya yang dilakukan dalam neraka membolehkan pemain membuat pilihan sama ada mahu memusnah atau menyucikan roh manusia dikutuk menggunakan cahaya salib untuk dihantar ke syurga.

Kelakarkan? Siap ada fatwa mengharamkan lagi permainan tesebut. Kalau benda yang lain yang memang Sah haram tidak pula diberi laporan. Saya tidak percaya bermain permainan video boleh menyebabkan akidah seseorang itu terpesong.

Brutal Legend : Sebuah Game yang Ganaz

Salam

Semalam saya buka PS3 dan telah saya dapati bahawa Brütal Legend Demo (1.6Gb) telah siap. Seingat saya, sewaktu saya tinggalkan PS3, progresnya masih berada di sekitar 30%. Mungkin Reja bermain PS3ku dan sekaligus, download itu siap. Terima Kasih diucapkan kepada Encik Reja.

Tanpa membuang masa, saya pun cuba bermain demo tersebut dan suka saya katakan bahawa game ini adalah bagus dari segi permainannya dan ceritanya. Sungguhpun begitu, game ini mempunyai elemen2 ganas dan penggunaan bahasa yang tidak sihat terutamanya untuk kanak2 di bawah umur atau budak2 sekolah. Saya anugerahkan 4 bintang daripada 5 kepada game ini.

Microsoft announced Project Natal somewhere in June during E3 2009. Since then, talks and questions about Project Natal have taken place all over the net. Project Natal, Microsoft Next Best Invention for Xbox 360. What is this Project Natal? No. It has nothing to do with Xmas. Literally, Natal is related to birth. Perhaps Microsoft is announcing new Xbox 360 Configuration with Project Natal.

Controlling without controller or joypad. That is Project Natal is all about. Imagine, controlling your game without using joypad.

Microsoft Explains

Compatible with any Xbox 360 system, the “Project Natal” sensor is the world’s first to combine an RGB camera, depth sensor, multi-array microphone and custom processor running proprietary software all in one device. Unlike 2-D cameras and controllers, “Project Natal” tracks your full body movement in 3-D, while responding to commands, directions and even a shift of emotion in your voice.

In addition, unlike other devices, the “Project Natal” sensor is not light-dependent. It can recognize you just by looking at your face, and it doesn’t just react to key words but understands what you’re saying. Call a play in a football game, and players will actually respond.

With thing like Project Natal, inexperienced user (who else, our mothers ler) can join the fun.

Xbox 360 Update: Getting ready for last.fm, facebook…

Testing my Xbox 360 for any hardware failures yesterday and boom update is available which is mandatory. If it is mandatory, don’t ask for permission like “Do you want to apply update?”. Well after my 1st Xbox 360 was visited by 3ROD, paranoia is my vocab. haha.

This is what Major Nelson has to say

Sometime over the next few hours when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you’ll receive a prompt to accept this mandatory update. If you are signed into LIVE already, you may be signed out and asked to accept the update and you’ll be back online in a few moments.

There are no new features or changes in this update. This update is preparation for additional system enhancements (Facebook/Twitter/Last.FM) that will arrive later this year.

Apparently electrical appliances do have feelings. I tell you, they have soul too. Just a week after I bought new PS3, me Xbox 360 gone kaput. The well-known 3 Rings of Death had been unleashed on me. Yeay! Way to go Bill!!! Just another reason to hate Microsoft even more.

All this PS3 stuff was actually the outcome of an unholy alliance between me housemate and I. He bought new HDTV and I bought PS3. That was the deal, Xbox got pwned… that was not in the deal

New PS3 with 2 Games RM 1800
Broken Xbox 360… priceless

It was manufactured in 2006 and died last week 2009. At least it served me well for 3 years. My sole form of escapism before WoW. Lucky to have bought PS3.

[VG] Guitar Hero: Aerosmith

What can I say. Me friend bought this game as substitution of Halo 3 as promised. The justification is simple, Halo 3, single player (which means, me only. lol), this game n the other hand, all can play. Ahh. Nevermind, he has been talking about this since Feb 2008. Only to become reality this month of Ramadan. At least the promise has been fulfilled. He is no more Mr. Poyol. har har har.

Okey, on with the game review. I really thought this Editon will be the same like Guitar Hero 3. It is not. Lessened difficulty, short career and not so many contents. First timer can beat the medium level without much difficulty, easy as ABC. I was quite disappointed to realize, the sugar-coated songs by Aerosmith were not present. Amazing, Crazy and I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing are not included.

I believe GH3 is better. But to Aerosmith Fan, this is a must buy. You, Mr. Ketua, should have bought GH3 rather than this. That’s why you need to ask people who know. sigh….

Out of 5 stars I can give this game 3 out 5.
